Project Details
Masterpiece Exhibition Gallery was planned for a rotating programme of contemporary and historical work. The space needed to support different exhibition formats, maintain careful lighting conditions, and remain durable enough for frequent installation work and public events.
What needed solving
A fixed layout would have limited the curatorial team, while standard overhead lighting risked glare and inconsistent illumination. The gallery also needed a clear visitor route without making the rooms feel over-directed or overly formal.
Design approach
We introduced moveable display walls to create flexible viewing sequences and concealed adjustable track lighting within a dark ceiling plane. Timber volumes add warmth and act as orientation points, while the open areas between them allow exhibitions to expand or contract as needed.
Modular walls can be repositioned without rebuilding the gallery.
Directional track lighting can be tuned for different artwork types.
Durable flooring supports heavy footfall and installation equipment.
